Monica De Campo

Monica is a potter with a studio located at Chaplin, Saskatchewan. De Campo moved to Canada from South Africa and has more than 30 years experience as an award-winning artist and potter.

She completed her Teaching Degree at the Pretoria Teachers College in 1975 as an Arts Major and took pottery hobby classes from Maxie Erasmus. This became a passion and Monica soon had her own studio and produced stoneware and earthenware pottery. She has since headed the Ceramic Department of Brakpan Technical College near Johannesburg and taught many pottery as well as arts and crafts private classes in her studio. She completed further studies at the Johannesburg Technikon in Printmaking, ceramics, drawing, painting, conceptual arts and art history. During 2004 she participated in the Artist in residence program at the Medalta International Clay Centre in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
