Elaine Robitaille

Recently moved to Swift Current, Saskatchewan, from Calgary, Alberta Elaine is a self-taught polymer clay artist. Always creative, she found herself looking for unique embellishments for her handmade jewelry. Twelve years ago she stumbled on basic instructions for polymer clay and hasn’t looked back.

Elaine Robitaille Most of Elaine’s work involves the use of cane or millefiori designs which borrows from the glass artists repertoire. It involves the creation of long tubes or canes of images by careful building up of colours and patterns. The canes are then sliced and used to create art.

Much of her polymer clay art work is nature inspired and has fanciful or fairytale elements. Careful manipulation of colour and finish appeal to her technical background.

Currently, Elaine teaches polymer clay classes to children and adults at the Art Gallery of Swift Current. You can view her website at: http://www.tooaquarius.com
